Rachel Blevins-Boor began her pre-professional training at the Maple Conservatory of Dance, where she performed classical ballet works under the direction of Patrick Frantz and Charles Maple in Irvine, CA. In addition to her ballet training, Rachel danced for and led her high school's Dance Ensemble under the direction of Sheryl Sloate, for which she choreographed, facilitated, and performed in concerts, fundraisers, and rallies.
Rachel graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Dance from Point Park University under the direction of Garfield Lemonius. During her time at school, she performed works by distinguished choreographers like Kate Skarpetowska, Stephanie Martinez, and Kiesha Lalama. In addition to her extensive training at Point Park, Rachel spent her summers with renowned companies such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, LINES Ballet, BODYTRAFFIC, Robert Moses' Kin, and Spectrum Dance Theater.
After graduation, Rachel moved to San Francisco to professionally freelance. While living in the Bay Area, Rachel continued her dance training at the LINES Dance Center and ODC. She was fortunate to perform with Robert Moses' Kin at Yerba Buena Night in Downtown San Francisco and for Peri Trono in residency at San Francisco SAFEHouse Arts.
This is Rachel's second season dancing for Zion Dance Project. In addition to rehearsing and performing with ZDP last season, Rachel danced at the Texas State Fair and auditioned for the Dallas Opera. Rachel is entering into her second year teaching for the Epicenter for the Arts, first year teaching for the London School of Dance, and second year retailing with her fourth lululemon team. She is beyond grateful for what God has done for her in Dallas thus far and is expectant for what's to come.
