The Zion Intensive Experience

Zion Dance Project Summer Intensive connects hand-selected, pre-professional dancers with influential speakers, teachers, and choreographers from around the world in Dallas TX. ZDP equips the dancer at the pre-professional level by providing the spiritual skills necessary to walk in their identity and purpose, establishing their call as a sacred dancer, and enriching them with new perspectives to what it means to dance for God. In addition, the intensive facilitates a sense of family between countless dancers by nurturing an invaluable space for growing dancers.

ZDP Summer Intensive is committed to facilitating and showcasing the work of today’s up-and-coming faith-filled artists. ZDP selects pre-advanced and advanced dancers, age 14 and up, through a live or online audition process. If selected, the dancers grow in a unique and intense experience, working closely with other pre-professional dancers. During these three weeks, dancers craft their abilities in the context of classes, rehearsal and performance while exploring the incorporation of their faith throughout the creative process.

The artists are guided, not only to learn movement, but also to incorporate their faith through His presence in the studio. This structure is highly unusual in the context of the everyday rehearsal process of a dancer. We believe there will be a revival movement in the field of dance where more artists begin to glorify and offer the gift of dance back to the Creator.

In addition to this unique classes and rehearsals, dancers will receive 23 hours of teaching and impartation on topics such as (identity, purpose, inner healing, intercession, prophetic, deliverance, and so much more.) These guest speakers are powerful and well--equipped in their teachings and are selected based on their experience in the field of ministry. Dancers will have the opportunity to engage and ask questions with speakers as well as receive mentorship on their spiritual journey.

The dancers participate in a rigorous schedule composed of five-day weeks of nine-hour days. The day consists of dance classes, lectures, rehearsals, and creations. Each day, morning and afternoon technique classes are offered, genres such as ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz and more.

Throughout the three weeks, the dancers explore different spiritual artistic approaches and choreographic processes. This schedule fosters each individual’s pre professional development by encouraging the development of new skills and the activation of a deeper level of faith and dance. Saturdays are filled with events, outreach performances, and showings.

On the final weekend of the project, a dance concert will be presented in Dallas, Texas to showcase the work and growth of the dancers.
