Looking upon the suffering of Israel, the ancient prophet Jeremiah cried out: “Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Be encouraged as you hear Isaiah’s promise sung in Hebrew, see what happens to those who wait on the Lord.

Virgins with oil-filled lamps ready for their groom. Their groom, adorned for war, robe dipped in blood, wearing many crowns and sash bearing the name King of Kings and Lord of Lords, rides on a white horse, executing justice, waging war against all those who would oppose Him, his bride and his armies. From his mouth is a sharp sword, He treads the winepress with the fury of the wrath of God of Almighty. As the Revelation comes to life, make sure your lamp is found full.

"The Great Dictator Speech" featuring Charlie Chaplin

How do we find Justice in a world with many different conclusions about what justice really looks like? Justice in its simplest form means to set things right. Yet, how do we know what is right? Who defines “right”? This mandate is not new. We are called like those before us to take action, confront evil, care for the vulnerable, and make that which is wrong right. This starts by seeing people as God sees them—in His image. As we pursue freedom for the oppressed, others can become what God created them to be. Black, White, Jew, Gentile…if we have experienced freedom, how can we not pursue freedom on behalf of others?

This is the way, let there be no doubt. Call on the name.
