VINCENT HARDY

Artistic Director

2017 FOUNDER

Vincent Hardy a UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS alum, danced for Complexions Contemporary Ballet under the direction of Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden. During his career he had the opportunity to work both in the concert world and in commercial dance, television, and film. He has received the chance to dance for artists such as, Donald McKayle, Christopher Huggins, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Luis Johnson, Zane Booker, Kim Bears Bailey, Desmond Richardson and more.

 

During his time with Complexions Contemporary Ballet he developed a desire for higher education to enhance his craft and to better educate the upcoming generation of dancers. After applying to University of California Irvine (UCI)  he was offered a full scholarship and received his Masters in Fine Arts (MFA). During this time he also went to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to receive a certification in Horton technique under the guidance of Ana Marie Forthsye.

 

Since then, Hardy has taught and choreographed both nationally and internationally at Universities such as Hun yang University (South Korea), Belhaven University (US), and University of North Texas. He was a artist in resendience for organizations such as Texas Ballet Theatre II, Ad Deum Dance Company, Ecclesia Contemporary Ballet and more. In addition Hardy is currently Company Class Insturctor for both Dallas Black Dance Theratre and Bruce woods Dance Project in located in Dallas Teaxas. where his roll consist of teaching traing the company dancer in the contemporary genre.  

In 2017 he felt the call to create and establish the ZION DANCE PROJECT with his wife Abigail Marie Hardy.

ABIGAIL HARDY

Co-Artistic Director

2017 FOUNDER

Abigail Hardy began her dance training at a young age developing skill in performance, choreography, and teaching. In her early training, Hardy studied through The Conservatory of Dance and Performing Arts in ballet, pointe, and jazz techniques. Her later years of training were taken through Belhaven University's renowned dance department, consisting of studies in ballet and modern performance as well as choreography. Hardy received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance from Belhaven University graduating with dance honors and receiving awards for outstanding service and artistic achievement.

 

She has worked with teachers and choreographers from Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Houston Ballet, JoséLimón, Milwaukee Ballet, Dance Company Mooe, and The Royal Ballet. From 2013-2014, Hardy was a member of Bal Mahada Dance company on an international tour throughout South Korea. Hardy had the opportunity to perform in the Busan International Dance Festival and Alabama Dance Festival.

 

She has traveled as a guest artist, choreographer and performer to France and Barbados. She is a member of the National Honors Society for Dance and an active artist of faith in the dance field. She performs as a free-lance dancer in project works and has been a dancer for the Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement since May of 2016.

 

Now residing in Dallas, Texas, Hardy currently is Co-Director with her husband Vincent Hardy for the Zion Dance Project, a platform for believer artists to release the light of Christ in professional works, through video and performance.

Director's Note

Zion Dance Project began in early 2017 by Vincent and Abigail Hardy. As they experienced dancing professionally, they saw the need for a platform consisting of faith and professional dance cultivated as one.

   

Their heart is to see change, freedom, and the love of God poured out to believers and nonbelievers alike. Vincent and Abigail teach, direct, choreograph, and minister in innovative ways both nationally and internationally.
